Dec. 19: Chocolate skulls, vintage shopping and the best Christmas carol show ever.
Before you make any other plans today, make sure you free yourself up around 4 p.m. The Flaming Lips' Wayne Coyne is doing a record store tour this week and his first stop is Grimey's! Coyne will be meeting and greeting fans and signing copies of new reissues of the Lips' 1984 debut EP and second cassette demo from 1983. Coyne will also be selling an extremely limited-edition version of the EP that is housed inside a hand-crafted, custom-made solid chocolate skull. Each skull will also contain a special golden coin that is redeemable as admission to any headlining show by the Lips in the world. (Side note: I hate having songs stuck in my head and I fear I'll be humming "Christmas at the Zoo" for the next few days.)
Flaming Lips Submitted Alright y'all, it's that time of year again... the annual Katy K Christmas Party! Of course they'll have food and drinks along with their annual sale, so it'll be a great night to finish up all your holiday shopping. While you're there, have a drink with some friends and then go home feeling good about yourself for shopping local and supporting one of Nashville's small businesses.
Katy K Submitted Ohhh, we've just been waiting for this all week. Tonight at the Stone Fox, No Country for New Nashville presents its second annual Christmas Carol show. See some of your favorite local bands (15, to be exact), drink some alcohol and celebrate with your friends while getting a good laugh at everyone's tacky holiday attire. Also, bring a coat — we knowwww you have one in your closet that's "so last season," so bring it out and it will get donated to the Nashville Rescue Mission!Stone Fox Submitted
