April 21: Fro-yo, a foodie celebrity, and a rockin' new album

Monday, April 21

I don't know about you, but I feel worn out from that jam-packed Easter weekend! But I won't let that stop me from having a little fun on this beautiful Monday.

Sweet CeCe's has a fun deal happening on its Facebook page right now. If you print off this coupon and bring it to the Sweet CeCe's in Green Hills, the store will donate 20 percent of the sale price to Gilda's Club. (Read our article on Gilda's Club here.) You'll also receive a coupon that lets you get free frozen yogurt next week! That's an awfully nice offer, we think!

Carla Hall Meet "The Chew" host Carla Hall at the Barnes & Noble at Vanderbilt today. Submitted

Foodies, here's a great event for your lunch break! You can actually meet Carla Hall, co-host of ABC's "The Chew" and a fan favorite on Bravo's "Top Chef All-Stars" at noon at Vanderbilt's Barnes & Noble bookstore. She'll be signing her new cookbook, "Carla's Comfort Foods." Pro tip: There's free parking in the garage behind the bookstore.

The Whigs Grimey's will host an album release party for The Whigs tonight. Submitted

Record Store Day happened over the weekend, but you now have another reason to visit Grimey's: Athens, Ga., garage rock band The Whigs will hold a release party for their new album "Modern Creation" today at 6 p.m. If you're not familiar with them yet, check out their website. Esquire previewed the album, calling it "one of those all-encompassing, all-too-rare experiences where you actually feel the music." Can't wait!

Meat Ya Meat Ya in Centennial Park will be from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, April 27. Submitted

And lastly, go ahead and start planning for next weekend. And by that I mean you should go ahead and nab your tickets to our giant cookout on Sunday at Centennial Park before the ticket price rises. 12B members get in free, of course, but non-members can still get tickets for all-you-can-eat food for just $10 (kids free). We'll have a giant Jenga, kite garden, beer garden, coffee tent and some amazing music (with Jonell Mosser!). The event is spearheaded by Nashville Originals, so you know it'll be fall-off-the-bone good! We'll have a vegetarian tent, too. Bring your kiddos and your pups and we'll "Meat Ya at Centennial Park!"
