Happy Earth Day! Nashville celebrated the holiday over the weekend (see our photos here), but the holiday is now officially here! Uber has partnered with the Earth Day Network, and in honor of efficient transportation, they are donating one dollar from every car fare today to the Earth Day Network to plant a tree — which means thousands of trees will be planted on behalf of their riders! We're encouraging you to grab a friend, share a ride and plant a tree in Mother Nature's honor. (P.S.: Don't forget, if you use the promo code 12thAndBroad on your first Uber ride, you get $20 off!)PR2014 Submitted

Or join 12th & Broad's Knight Stivender and Codie Gentry at the 28th annual Strobel Awards! Hosted by Hands On Nashville, the event recognizes the achievements of Middle Tennessee volunteers, and is the highest volunteer honor in the area. The awards are named in memory of the late Mary Catherine Strobel and celebrate those who are continuing her legacy of charitable service. This year, 12th & Broad is honored to be a part of our parent company's (TN Media) special award, the Volunteer Innovator Award. It honors individuals or groups that have responded creatively to an unmet community need by designing a volunteer program, practice or response, or by adding innovation to an existing program or agency. See the finalists for this award here.Ben Folds Project Submitted
At 5:30 p.m., you can get a private peek into the Nashville Ballet's rehearsal for The Ben Folds Project. At this special "LookIn," you can learn about the creative process and view an excerpt of the performance as it is being shaped in the rehearsal process. It's a fun way to see what goes on behind the scenes and it's free! (Please RSVP.) Performances will take place at TPAC May 2-4.
TICKETS! You know we like to sneak free tickets into our newsletter every now and then, just to make sure you're reading. We will choose a winner from the folks who respond to this newsletter by noon today asking for tickets. We have a pair possibly waiting for you!Dining Out Submitted
ALL DAY, you should be dining out. Breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner: Head out to one of these 70 restaurants who are participating in Dining Out for Life. The restaurants participating in Dining Out for Life are donating a generous percentage of proceeds from the day's meals to Nashville CARES, which helps us fight HIV/AIDS in our community.Cause A Scene Submitted
What's a night out in Nashville without good music? Personally, I'll be rockin' out to Chevelle at The Cannery. But there's also a "secret show" (oops, guess I blew their cover) for Cause a Scene with Joshua James and Judah & The Lion at Nisolo in Germantown. Looks like a good one! Don't know what Cause a Scene is? Here's an article we recently did on their new direction and a profile on the founder here. There's also some great music at The Basement tonight. It's their "New Faces Nite" if you want to discover something new.
